3. Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson

While Georges is rumoured to want to go after the middleweight title, it is not outside the realm of possibility that he ends up facing whoever the welterweight champion is in the fall. If that is the case, he could end up facing Wonderboy.

Thompson took on GSP’s teammate Rory MacDonald, in the Red King’s final UFC appearance in June. In that fight, Thompson was so elusive that Rory couldn’t really get anything going. Georges would most likely attempt more takedowns than Rory did however, which worked well for Woodley at UFC 205. Standing with Thompson is probably a mistake.

If Georges decides to go back to welterweight however, it’s entirely likely this is his first fight back.
