The Immortal was expecting a stiff test against Demian Maia and he got just that. Maia, a former title challenger at Middleweight, is arguably the best grappler in mixed martial arts. He was able to dominate Brown on the mat and lock in a fight finishing rear naked choke in round 3. The 4th degree Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt has now won five straight fights in the UFC’s Welterweight Division.
After the victory, Maia stated that he is hoping that his next fight will be for the title. He asked the jiu jitsu community to help him make that title fight possible.
