1. The Fertitta Family Organized Crime Ties
The UFC was about to go under in 2001 when it was purchased by the Fertitta Brothers, who many believe are the heirs to a fortune built on organized crime.
Lorenzo and Frank Fertitta’s father, Frank Fertitta II, was the former proprietor of Station Casinos before his sons took it over. In the mid-80s Frank II was implicated in a skimming operation at the casino, allegedly being caught on tape implicating himself in the operation. No charges were ever laid however.
The Fertittas are alleged to be part of the Maceo-Fertitta crime family that set up Las Vegas based operations in the mid 1900s.
This is a load of crap. The UFC uses re-leathered replicas. They’re probably worth $500.
