Joe Rogan’s face perfectly shows how we were all feeling last night; a little confused. How were these epic fights which seemed perfect in terms of matchmaking all so boring? Along with the piss poor atmosphere and production, all the wrestling and failed anticipation, the number of fights that went to the judges was just frustrating.
Out of 12 fights, five were finishes. Doesn’t seem so bad, but when three of those finishes came on the Fight Pass opening card, it starts to tell a story. The fighters at the top of the card, and thus the payscale, were simply there to win and not thrill.
Of course the line between sports and entertainment is a matter of perspective, but the bottom line for the fans is not great viewing.
