4. Conor McGregor vs. Nate Diaz III
Conor winning the lightweight title would create the possibility of the trilogy fight between he and Nate being for a championship.
The first two PPV fights between Conor and Nate broke records and contributed to the UFC being valued at $4 billion in their recent sale. Those fights didn’t even have a title on the line. A third fight between the two, with the added bonus that Nate could win his first ever championship, would probably draw even more money.
Unfortunately for other contenders in the division, if Conor does defeat Alvarez at 205, it makes it very likely Nate gets the first title shot. This would not be welcome news to contenders such as Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson.
