Woodley Can’t Knockout Thompson
Tyron Woodley, despite his wrestling background, is at his best when he can knockout his opponent, i.e exactly what happened in his fight with Robbie Lawler. The only problem for Woodley in a fight against Thompson is that he’s never going to get close enough to him to knock him out. Rory MacDonald could never get close enough to Thompson and he beat Woodley, so what chance does Woodley have?
Thompson has only won 1 fight in the UFC by decision, and that was a split-decision win over a dehydrated Kelvin Gastelum who failed to make weight at UFC 183. The only other two fights he has had in the UFC that went the distance were losses to Jake Shields and Rory MacDonald.
