Boxing legend Manny Pacquiao recently said that gay marriage ‘makes people worse than animals.’ His former opponent Floyd Mayweather reacted to the anti-gay slurs with a video statement…
Once again the two biggest names in modern boxing are embroiled in a fierce rivalry, and this time it has absolutely nothing to do with the sport itself. One of the greatest pugilists of our er, Manny Pacquiao, has landed himself in some serious hot water with his recent comments.
‘Pac Man’ is still considered one of the all-time greats in boxing, even after his decision loss to Floyd Mayweather last year, and so is in the limelight on a regular basis. When asked about how he felt on the topic of gay marriage, Pacquiao made a serious blooper. Check it out:
Campaigning for a seat in the Philippines house of senate, Manny Pacquiao made this extremely controversial statement about gay marriage:
“It’s common sense. Will you see any animals where male is to male and female is to female?
“The animals are better. They know how to distinguish male from female. If we approve [of] male on male, female on female, then man is worse than animals.”
Wow, it’s clear to see why Pacquiao’s comments have sparked a massive outrage in multiple communities (none more so than the LGBT community). The boxing great’s image has taken a severe beating over the ast few days, and now his old rival Floyd Mayweather has reacted to the homophobic rant with a video statement:
One of the boxer’s huge sponsors thinks so.
