MMA just got completely changed forever, but is it for the better?
Earlier this week we were teased with the news of a coming announcement from Georges St-Pierre. The ex-UFC welterweight champion has been going through contract disputes with the promotion surrounding UFC 206.
The Toronto, Canada-based pay-per-view has suffered a litany of injuries. Daniel Cormier was struck from the card, as was his opponent Anthony Johnson, making the lack of GSP even more obvious.
Beef With The UFC
Many believed St-Pierre’s huge announcement would involve his comeback, but then more news was leaked. Former Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney was on board with GSP, as was popular UFC star Donald Cerrone.
Rumours of a fighters union began spreading across the net, but hard facts were few and far between. Finally, earlier this evening, the MMA world was put out of it’s misery. St-Pierre, Cerrone and many others finally gave us the big reveal.
Here’s the lowdown:
Mixed Martial Arts Athletes Association
Joined forces by the likes of Tim Kennedy, TJ Dillashaw, Cowboy Cerrone and Cain Velasquez, GSP proudly announced the mixed martial arts athletes association. The group has been formed to ensure better treatment of fighters under all promotional banners.
Especially in the UFC, but present under many organizations is alleged poor treatment of fighters. This could well and hopefully will become a thing of the past.

There you have it, but what impact will this have on these current fighters involved? Do they have enough strength to fight the so-called ‘tyranny’ and shady business tactics of the UFC?
Many fighters have spoke up about the UFC in the past, but this is the first time a legitmate band have formed to fight their bosses. How many more will join?
america works best when we say union yes
