One of boxing’s rising stars, Gervonta Davis has tweeted that he will back inside the ring in October. It is certainly interesting to see Davis being an active boxer especially someone of his caliber. If October is his target date, it will just be a 3 months of interval between his last fight which is rare among boxing champions.

Gervonta Davis is sometimes called Mayweather’s protege mainly because of how Floyd Mayweather has marketed him as the next big thing. What makes Davis a star is mainly his power and style of fighting, when he fights it pretty much ends in a knockout. He has a total of 25 fights and 24 of them ended in a Knockout.

As Mayweather would describe Tank’s power similar to the power of a heavyweight which is CRAZY. They say Power cannot be taught but rather fighters are born with it, Davis may certainly have a case of a special talent. He is usually the shorter fighter in fights, but when he hits his opponents, their reaction changes.

What is also crazy is that there two big boxing events that happened, Lomachenko vs Nakatani and Davis vs Barrios. One would think that many people would watch the former pound for pound king to attract a lot of fans but no, it was Davis who stole the night. Gervonta Davis had solid numbers in terms of PPV and gates compared to a Lomachenko fight card.

Who would you want Gervonta Davis fight next? He could move down and face fellow undefeated prospects like Ryan Garcia, Devin Haney or even Teofimo Lopez. Garcia has said that he wants Tank Davis to be his next fight and Davis also responded that he wants it. It would make sense to book it and it is also one of the big fights the fans want to see right now.
