With Rafael dos Anjos injured, Conor McGregor has been left looking for a new opponent. A very well known face just offered to fight in the Brazilian’s place at UFC 196. See what’s been said here…
UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor has once again been left without an opponent just two weeks before a title fight. Mirroring what happened with Jose Aldo at UFC 194, Rafael dos Anjos has pulled out of UFC 196.
Reports indicate the lightweight champion who would have been making his second title defense on March 5 has broken his foot. The news broke just this morning, and already social media has been going wild on the subject.
One fighter who offered his services to replace dos Anjos right away was McGregor’s old foe Donald Cerrone. Check out how ‘Cowboy’ and everybody else on Twitter reacted to the news of RDA getting injured:
Spoke to Cerrone’s mgmt team this morning. They are interested in taking the fight. He’s on the shortlist, for sure.

The idea that I actually think Rafael dos Anjos broke his own foot to escape Conor McGregor is ridiculous on its face.

And to the people criticizing dos Anjos, the man fought and beat Pettis with a ruined knee. So much more to lose here though. Tough spot.

Dos Anjos puling out of UFC 196 marks the 10th main or co-main event change to UFC calendar so far in 2016. On pace for 60 (!) this year.

Aldo pulled out, now Dos Anjos pulls out.
The story repeats itself and it will have the same outcome. #AndNew
