The last UFC fight card of the year ends with a bang. The fight night would have been headlined by Khamzat Chimaev vs Leon Edwards but was rebooked due to Edwards testing positive for COVID.
The co-main event was then upgraded to main-event which will be headlined by Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson against Geoff “Handz of Steel” Neal. Both are top-ranked contenders in the welterweight, the winner of the supposed fight could potentially be one fight away from a title shot.
Stephen Thompson already fought for the title twice and it was against Tyron Woodley. He lost in a close decision twice but has proven to still be a top contender in the welterweight division. He is known for his Karate stance and high-level striking, which some think could prove to be a problem to the current champion, Kamaru Usman.
Geoff Neal is also a top contender in the welterweight division. He is known for his raw power that could end the fight with one strike. Joe Rogan thinks that Neal is a super talent fighter that could potentially be a future champion but just lacks popularity. Rogan calls him the dark horse of the division.
The co-main event features Jose Aldo vs Marlon Vera. Aldo is coming of 0-2 in the division but those two fights were against the top in the division and it was competitive. Some argue that Aldo beat Moraes in his bantamweight debut. Everyone knows that Aldo since he is the conversation for being the GOAT due to his long featherweight reign.
Meanwhile, Marlon Vera gained huge popularity after beating the huge hype train of Sean O’ Malley. The fight resulted in O’Malley getting injured mid-fight, O’Malley still thinks that he is the better fighter and that the injury was just a fluke. Vera still continues to climb the rankings and a win over Aldo could make him a top 10 bantamweight contender.
Michel Pereira vs Khaos Williams is also a guaranteed banger. Both fighters always offer fireworks in their fight. Pereira is known to have a super athletic fighting style that makes fans entertained. He has huge potential to be a complete martial artist but sometimes gets carried away with his emotions. If Pereira gets serious about winning the fight, he is a legit fighter.
Khaos Williams’s last 2 fights ended so fast that both finds ended in under 30 seconds. He is getting used to being doubted but always gives upset to the fight. Another potential rising star is in the making with Williams. He has the famous saying “Keep sleeping on me, and the doctor will wake you up”. It should be a fun fight and will potentially have the Knockout of the Night”.
Another important bantamweight fight would be Marlon Moraes vs Rob Font. Moraes is known for his power and fought for the title against Henry Cejudo. He was so close to getting the title but fell short, he is looking to get back on the title contention after his loss against Cory Sandhagen.
There is also a women’s flyweight fight that features Gillian Robertson vs Talia Santos which could add to the top contenders in the flyweight roster.
And the big heavyweight fight, of Greg Hardy vs Marcin Tybura. Heavyweight always attracts casual viewers due to their size and power, the fight usually ends fast but you never know.
