Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz went to war at UFC 202. The main event rematch had all the makings of a classic before it had even transpired. McGregor and Diaz kept their rivalry going since March 5 with a number of crazy incidents.
Eventually clashing this past Saturday, ‘The Notorious’ and his Stockton rival had a lot of talk to back up. Finally the octagon door closed behind them, and the result was even more entertaining than their first meeting.
Battle For The Ages
The UFC 202 main event has been described as one of the greatest fights ever. McGregor had the humiliating submission loss to Diaz in the forefront of his mind, and it motivated him massively.
Diaz is known for being durable, but the punishment he took from the Irishman was just insane. As much as he tried, ‘The Notorious’ could not finish his rival at UFC 202. The judges scored the fight by majority for Conor McGregor.
Trilogy?
Interestingly Dana White was not keen on the idea of an immediate rematch. Following their classic rematch Dana actually revealed McGregor vs. lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez was possible.
UFC commentator Joe Rogan had a far more crazy idea though.
