Khabib Nurmagomedov’s trash talk game is strong…
Since joining the UFC in 2012, Russian wrestler Khabib Nurmagomedov has been on fire. Extending his win streak by eight fights, ‘The Eagle’ is currently unbeaten. Touting a 24-0 record, it’s no wonder the hashtag #TeamKhabib is trending right now.
Scheduled to face fellow streaking lightweight Tony Ferguson at UFC 209, Nurmagomedov will fight for his first UFC title. Although its the interim belt, the winner will be guaranteed a shot at Conor McGregor.
Unification
Assuming McGregor does return to MMA first, we could see Khabib vs. ‘The Notorious’ in Russia this year. According to recent reports, the promotion is working hard to score partnerships in Russia.
Going back to the Irishman, he’s once again involved in rumours with Floyd Mayweather. Talking with TMZ.com, Khabib calls bullsh*t on McGregor v. Mayweather, with his own brash trash talking:
Street Fight?
“I’m gonna break (Tony Ferguson’s arm), I’m gonna smash this guy and make him tap. If (Floyd) want to fight with me, he can fight me in the street or in the UFC. (Conor and Floyd) can fight, they can make a PPV. Conor has to be careful, after I smash Tony I’m going to smash McGregor. I don’t care about Conor, Mayweather, I am the Floyd Mayweather of MMA. I can become 26-0, undefeated and undisputed lightweight champion. After I become champ, I want to defend my title and become the best lightweight in history.”
After UFC 209 goes down on March 4, either Khabib or Ferguson will be next for McGregor. If its the Russian, you can bet your bottom dollar on some high quality trash talk. Talking of Khabib vs. McGregor, who do you feel would win that fight?
