According to some reports, Khamzat Chimaev has apparently pulled out of his fight against Edwards. This the second time the fight has been canceled the first one with Edwards pulling out for testing positive for COVID. The reason for Chimaev pulling is unknown at the moment, but the UFC scrapped the main-event schedule.

Some fans jokingly said that the fight is the new Khabib vs Ferguson since both fighters pulled out every time and that the fight will never happen. The most likely scenario may be Neil Magny stepping up to fight Edwards since he was already scheduled to fight Michael Chiesa on the same card.

It is semi-confirmed since Leon Edwards tweeted well wishes to Chimaev and that he is still willing to fight a different opponent. He also called out Jorge Masvidal in the next tweet, but it is unlikely that Masvidal accepts the fight.

Both Leon Edwards and Jorge Masvidal had an encounter in a UFC Fight Night Till vs Masvidal. Leon Edwards wanted to headline against Darren Till but Masvidal got the spot instead. Edwards became the co-main event and fought Gunnar Nelson. Both Masvidal and Edwards won the fight that night.

During Masvidal’s post-fight interview, Leon Edwards was yelling at Masvidal in which Masvidal came in on him and punched his face. The infamous three-piece and a soda phrase of Masvidal came from here.
