Michael Morales continues to possess flawless MMA and UFC records after defeating Jake Matthews at UFC Fight Night 232. The two fighters finished all rounds, but Morales made a remarkable performance that pushed judges to grant the Ecuadorean his win via unanimous decision.

Morales already had the advantage at the start of the bout with his range advantage and speed. The two fighters traded shots, but Morales managed to deliver more effective, accurate shots and dodge some of the counterattacks made by the Australian. There were long pocket exchanges, and Matthews managed to land some shots. Matthews slipped in this round, and although he managed to stand back up, the punches of the Morales pushed him back. Morales tried the jump knee, but the fight went on.

By the second round, the low kicks, uppercuts, and straight punches Morales released started to affect Matthews, who tried to protect himself and retreat. Although the Australian attempted to be more aggressive, Morales’s consistent energy overshadowed the opponent.

In Round 3, Morales had to recover after Matthews connected low with a kick. Yet, the Ecuadorean returned with revenge by responding to his opponent’s attacks. In general, while Matthews also made successful shots, the impact of Morales’ blows did bigger damage to him, especially when he received right-hand shots to his temple.

With his latest win, Morales extends his latest unbroken winning streak in the MMA industry to 16, while his UFC record gets four.
