During a busy evening for the fight game, all hell broke loose last night. Against all the odds, Conor McGregor’s boxing debut against Floyd Mayweather was confirmed last night. After 18 months of speculation and banter, the date was confirmed for August 26.

There’s no doubt now that Mayweather vs. McGregor is happening, but there’s plenty more details to come. Leading up to the August clash, fans can expect the best trash talk and antics they’ll likely ever see.

Fans Going Nuts, Nate Diaz Not So Much…

During a whirlwind of reports, fans finally had concrete confirmation that Mayweather vs. McGregor was indeed for real. Up until this point, somewhat understandably, people were extremely sceptical of the bout’s legitimacy.

Two-time opponent of McGregor and fan favourite Nate Diaz is not sold on the festivities. Taking to Instagram, Diaz wrecked the party with one paragraph tagged in the following photo:

Nate Against The World

Having fought twice against Conor McGregor, Nate Diaz certainly knows a thing or two about the Irishman’s boxing skills. Certainly in their first fight, Diaz was able to land some crushing blows on the chin of ‘The Notorious.’

During a recent interview, Diaz actually said he’d be interested in fighting the winner of McGregor and Mayweather’s historic August clash:

Nate on Getting Paid & Fighting Future

“I’m just training, trying to stay in shape. They called me for camp so it’s perfect. I’ve just been training at home and not doing much,” said Diaz.

“They said I was waiting for Conor McGregor. But I wasn’t waiting for Conor McGregor. I’ve already beat him twice. I was just training so that if I was going to fight again anytime soon, it’s going to be a big deal. A money fight where I get paid regardless.”

“Now they (UFC) are talking about all this Mayweather-McGregor stuff. I tried to get my boxing license years ago because some boxing promoters were trying to buy my contract from the UFC. The UFC was not letting me go, and now they’re talking about all this Mayweather-McGregor stuff,” said Diaz.

“I don’t know how real or fake it is but, I mean who knows? Money talks. All I know is, I’m the only one with the credentials to fight both of those guys.”

“If he (McGregor) was a real fighter, he’d be the one hunting the rematch. Because I already won twice, and I’m not really losing sleep over it. I get paid no matter who I fight so it’s all good with me.”

  1. Diaz spills his sour grapes for the world to see, then claims “it’s all good with me”? Hilarious. Diaz can’t box for shit. Claims to have beaten McGregor twice as well? Sounds rather bitter to me.
