4. vs. Jim Miller UFC on Fox 3

This was Nate Diaz’s 3rd win in 8 months, having previously defeated Takanori Gomi and and Donald Cerrone at UFC 135 and 145 respectively.

Miller was coming in hot as well, having won 8 of his last 9 fights. Miller’s only blemish in that period was a decision loss to Benson Henderson in August of 2011.

The first round started with both guys ending up in the clinch. Then near the end of the round it looked as though Miller was a little tired while Nate was happy to push he pace. The 2nd round started much like the first until Nate peppered him with punches, Miller went for a takedown, Nate grabbed ahold of his neck and tapped him out.

It was the first time in his career Jim Miller had ever been finished. Nate was given submission of the night.
