Hulking female fighter Gabi Garcia missed weight by a staggering 26lbs for her fight with Shinobu Kandori in the Rizin promotion back in 2017.
The fight was cancelled and Garcia went down on her knees and begged for forgiveness from Japanese fans afterwards and later went on to explain the troubling circumstances that had led to her decision.
“I decide not cut weight because I feeling like I almost died,” Garcia told TMZ.
“Unfortunately a few days ago I measured my [blood] pressure was high, I thought it was only that day.
“When I got off the plane in Japan I went to my training and started to have a headache, my eyesight blurred and my nose bleeding all the time.”
The symptoms continued until the day of the weigh-ins when she woke up with a fever, blood dripping from her nose and high bloody pressure, at which time she feared what would happen if she continued to cut weight and made the decision to stop.
