Conor McGregor’s return to the UFC octagon is currently in the negotiations stage. According to the latest update, things are going well, but there’s one thing we still don’t know; when…
After his riveting UFC 205 win over Eddie Alvarez, newly minted lightweight champion Conor McGregor was clad in accolades. Becoming the only ever UFC champ to hold belts in separate weight classes at the same time, McGregor had risen to the top-of-the-top.
Although he had set one of the craziest records ever, McGregor’s path in combat sports since that night has been somewhat strange. From a monetary standpoint, McGregor has made more than he could spend, but from a traditional, perhaps purist standpoint, it’s been truly bizarre.
Facing Floyd Mayweather in a big money boxing debut, McGregor’s absence from MMA has caused a stir in many respects. Among some fellow fighters and certain sects of fans, there’s a feeling of resentment towards the globally famous Irishman.

Update on UFC Return
While McGregor jostles for more money from the UFC, reactions from many fans have followed a negative line. Perhaps it’s jealousy, or simply frustration from the division being held up, but there are a lot of bad vibes being thrown McGregor’s way.
As per usual, McGregor gives zero f*cks, but we haven’t heard a solid source give an update on the scenario until today that is.
According to MMA and pro wrestling credited insider Dave Meltzer, two fights are being looked at for 2018 and negotiations are going smoothly:
Read the scoop below…

“The word is that negotiations with Conor McGregor are going well.”
“No deal to return has been inked but they are said to be not so far apart and are in talks about him doing two fights in 2018.”
“All the pub right now is Mayweather under MMA rules but I can’t see Mayweather agreeing to that, even though it’s huge money.”
“The UFC fight idea is the winner of Tony Ferguson vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov”
According to McGregor, during a recent Instagram comment, a trilogy fight with his old rival Nate Diaz will happen:

@JESSECHARLESRAND EXACTLY. A TRULY BEAUTIFUL POSITION. THE MOST INTENSE POSITION TO BE IN UNDER THE LIGHTS OF THE ENTIRE WORLD. TRY AND IMAGINE WHAT IT WOULD FEEL LIKE. AMAZING.
