The UFC has released new and never before seen footage of their two biggest stars…
After their first fight at UFC 196, UFC stars Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz were destined to fight again. Given the fact Diaz had come in on just 12 days notice and submitted McGregor, there was a huge storyline for the rematch.
Rocking ‘The Notorious’ with some slick combos, Diaz had lived up to all his own predictions. Unfortunately for the Irishman McGregor, he was made to eat his words in a big way. Although he’d essentially been humiliated, McGregor took the loss like a champ.
Diaz-McGregor Rematch
Heading in to UFC 202 on August 20, 2016, so much was on the line for both men. Another win for Diaz would cement him as the top of the food chain. For McGregor, revenge was essential in continuing his highly hyped run.
During one of the greatest fights of all time, McGregor and Diaz dug deep for five rounds. When the action halted and the dust began to settle, it was clear both men were very well matched.
McGregor’s hand was raised in victory, but it wasn’t clear in everyone’s opinion.
McGregor Didn’t Know
Releasing a new video on the FOX Youtube channel, the UFC shows that even McGregor was unsure of his win. Since that night in Vegas, ‘The Notorious’ has gone on to take a stance against the UFC, and blasted Diaz for being ‘punch drunk.’
Check out the video of McGregor and Diaz mic’d up after their rematch, and notice McGregor asking ‘who won?’
Trilogy? Probably Not
Even with the huge drawing power a trilogy fight would have, there’s just too many hurdles to imagine it ever happening. McGregor is battling hard for a boxing match with Mayweather, and there’s a line of contenders to his 155-pound UFC title.
