Watch Out Khabib… It Looks Like Conor McGregor Has a Super Fan in Vladimir Putin… But People Aren’t Happy…
Conor McGregor does what he wants. We’ve all come to realize this. He’s currently in Moscow where he attended the World Cup Final because his life is better than yours or mine. Newsflash: Khabib Nurmagamedov was also at the event.
Odds definitely plummeted on the Notorious spending the night in a Siberian Gulag, because we all know what happened the last time the two rivals were in the same stadium together. McGregor stormed Brooklyn’s Barclay Center and spent the night in a police precinct cell, after chucking a dolly through a bus window at the Russian Champion.
Now McGregor is in hot water after posting pictures with the Dark Lord of the Sith President of Russia, Vladimir Putin. Many fans and supporters are not impressed as Putin isn’t exactly renowned for looking after human rights and all that good stuff.
Controversy
Amazingly, McGregor was invited along to the World Cup Final, where France beat Croatia, as a personal guest of Vladimir Putin is a massive fan of all things to do with martial arts. The Russian president is a bonafide black belt in Judo. He’s not a man to mess with. McGregor commented on the post:
“Today I was invited to the World Cup Final as a guest of Russian President Vladimir Putin. This man is one of the greatest leaders of our time and I was honored to attend such a landmark event alongside him. Today was an honor for me Mr. Putin. Thank you and congratulations on an amazing World Cup.
Россия вперёд!”
Now as you might expect, McGregor has received a lot of hate for his developing friendship with the Russian President. Apparently jailing political opponents and invading Ukraine isn’t a good thing…

Khabib Time
Don’t forget that Khabib Nurmagamedov was also there at the event. The pair didn’t actually meet at the event, but the Russian UFC lightweight champion did make a statement to his local media. He told Чемпионат.com:
“I do not see the point now to approach Conor. We still will not be able to find out who is stronger. We are, after all, hospitable people. Let the football look and enjoy Russia and I think we will meet this year in Las Vegas.”
Enjoying the World Cup final in Russia.
