In case you were wondering what’s going on in the world of mixed martial arts today, it’s been f*cking crazy. The New York assembly met to decide the fate of MMA in the Big Apple, where the sport is currently illegal.
The battle has been going for years now, as the quest to legitimize mixed martial arts in NY has seen crooked assembly member Sheldon Silver jailed for taking back handed cash during his tenure.
So the people in charge of adjudicating and deciding which laws will and will not be passed in New York once again held the fate of MMA’s future in their hands. The state is the only one of 50 that currently outlaws MMA.
