Jiri Prochazka still can’t decide how his fight against Aleksandar Rakic at UFC 300 will end. For him, the opponent is “50-50,” stressing the opponent has his strengths and weaknesses.
Prochazka lost o Alex Pereira at UFC 295. After that defeat, “The Czech Samurai” tried to find a match that would allow him to get back to the octagon as soon as possible. Fortunately for him, he found an entrance when Jan Blachowicz withdrew from his UFC 297 fight against Rakic. Now, the two are set to face each other in April at the historic UFC 300 card.
With Prochazka’s record, some might see him as the dominant fighter in the match. Yet, for the Czech fighter, he’s still trying to master the game in the cage.
“I want to realize the mastery,” Prochazka said on Low Kick MMA. “Not just in the training, not just in the daily life. Repeat, repeat, repeat. Be better, be better. But in the cage. To show it in the cage, that’s what I want to show.”
With all that, Prochazka doesn’t want to underestimate his next opponent. Despite both of them coming from a recent loss, he believes Rakic has his strength. Yet, the No. 4 light heavyweight fighter thinks “Rocket” also has a weakness he can exploit.
“He’s 50-50,” Prochazka said. “He’s a good wrestler. He’s a really strong guy, I think. His standup is not the best, but like I said, he’s a 50-50. Good striker, good wrestler, and I’m ready for both.”
