Well now, this is a bold statement, to say the least….
Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather’s world tour has dominated headlines this week. Featuring four cities in three countries, the series of pressers was totally bonkers. Packed with the trash talk and antics we’ve come to expect, the conferences had highs and lows.
Top quotes emerging from this week featured Mayweather calling McGregor a fagg*t, and ‘The Notorious’ claiming he was half black. There was a lot more than apparently met the eye, though, as the two ‘rivals’ reportedly shared a private jet from New York to London.
Regardless, the stage is set, and the casual fans will likely pay by the millions for this fight. Will it be a whitewash for Mayweather like many are predicting? Not according to UFC flyweight champ Demetrious Johnson.

Mighty Mouse is Picking Conor McGregor to Win
Speaking with TMZ, as quoted by BloodyElbow.com, pound-for-pound great Demetrious Johnson has some interesting comments. Not only is he picking the Irishman to win, he wants to see McGregor fight the winner of GGG vs. Canelo:
“I’m riding with Conor,” Johnson said. “I think Conor, he can probably get it done sooner if he goes out there being ferocious, but I’m going with Conor. I think Conor’s gonna get the job done.”
“Mighty Mouse” isn’t too sure what McGregor’s immediate future after the Mayweather fight will look like, but he hopes “The Notorious” fights the winner of Gennady Golovkin vs. Saul Alvarez, a highly-anticipated boxing match happening in September, if the Irishman comes out on top against “Money.”
“It’s hard to say. I’ll tell you what: he ain’t gonna make a big check like that in the UFC,” Johnson said. “Hopefully Conor goes out there and knocks Floyd out, and then he can go ahead and fight the winner of GGG and ‘Canelo’ Alvarez. I’d love to see that.”

What Does The Future Hold?
Although facing the victor of Gennady Golovkin and Saul Alvarez’s September clash sounds ‘fun’ it’s also unlikely. Speaking this week about potentially facing Nate Diaz or Khabib Nurmagomedov, McGregor’s future could well be back in the UFC.
According to UFC president Dana White, even that isn’t set in stone, as per MMAFighting.com:

Dana Doesn’t Know
“I had a bunch of guys who worked for us in the UFC and made a bunch of money and they’re gone now. You know? You just don’t know, if he’s going to come in and make this kind of money, he might never fight again.”
“That’s part of the deal, you know? This kid has done a lot for the sport, a lot for the company and this is the fight that he wanted, so we’re going to give it to him. And if this is the end of his career, then it is what it is.“
LOL Triple G will kill McGregor
