Muay Thai legend Saenchai also has a scathing message for Conor McGregor’s fans…
It wasn’t that long ago that UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor was all set to take over the mixed martial arts world. Riding a seven fight/six knockout spree at 145 pounds, ‘The Notorious’ was scheduled to face Rafael dos Anjos for the lightweight title at UFC 196.
After RDA was injured in training, things took an interesting turn. UFC lightweight number five Nate Diaz was drafted in to replace the injured Brazilian, and the rivalry between Diaz and McGregor was finally ignited on the biggest stage.
Before that night in Las Vegas, Nevada, just about everyone wanted a piece of McGregor. Champions and contenders from all the UFC’s divisions were calling for the money fight with the Irish boxer.
In true McGregor form, the trash talking striker said he’d fight anyone, anytime, and this led to one particularly interesting message from a legend of Muay Thai.
Suddenly Saenchai, consensusly the greatest Muay Thai fighter of his generation, was interested in fighting Conor McGregor. He told fans on his Facebook page that he would love to challenge the rising MMA star, and claimed McGregor couldn’t take a real Thai boxer.
The internet obviously went crazy over these comments, and now Saenchai has followed up after UFC 196. McGregor was tapped out in the second round by Diaz, and Saenchai Sor Kingstar gives his opinion on the next page.
