5. Tim Sylvia vs. Ray Mercer

Ray Mercer was 49 years old when he knocked out Tim Sylvia in 2009. It took him all of 9 seconds to do so. All of 9 seconds to prove to the world the superior striking skills boxers have over MMA fighters.

At the time Sylvia was still considered a top heavyweight, even though he had been embarrassed badly by Fedor his previous bout. Fedor embarrassed everyone at that time however.

This was Mercer’s only pro MMA bout, but 2 years earlier he had fought in an exhibition with Kimbo Slice. If you can believe it, Kimbo made him tap to a guillotine in the 1st round. Kimbo Slice represented MMA better than Tim Sylvia did.
