MMA has been appealing to numerous celebrities over the years, but only a few have dared to actually get in the cage.

Wesley Snipes famously once toyed with the idea of getting in the cage and facing Joe Rogan. While all sides appeared to agree to the fight, details were not able to be worked out and Snipes ended up going to jail for not paying taxes.

Other celebrities, such as Ashton Kutcher, have sought out high-level jiu-jitsu and MMA instructors to teach them. But then there are those who take it a step further and decide they have to test themselves and try it at least once.

For the purposes of this article we have omitted celebrity athletes from other combat sports, such as boxing, kickboxing, any type of grappling etc.

Here are 6 celebrities who have attempted MMA.

6. Jason David Frank (aka “the Green Ranger”)

Jason David Frank is a 7th degree black belt in karate, and used his martial arts background to land himself on the hit TV series “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers”. While the show is aimed at children, it features plenty of fight scenes.

Frank was cast on the show at the age of 19, and once it appeared his days as a Power Ranger were over he decided to try his hand at mixed martial arts. Turns out Frank wasn’t that bad either, as he won four straight amateur fights before making his professional debut.

He won his only professional MMA bout in just 45 seconds with a rear naked choke. Frank was scheduled for a couple of fights back in 2011, but neither bout materialized. He popped up again recently after CM Punk’s signing with the UFC was announced. Frank made it clear that he was willing to be Punk’s opponent for his debut.
