2. “Little Rig” Johny Hendricks

Johny Hendricks is one of the most important people in regards to the UFC’s agreement with USADA.

It was actually Johny Hendricks’ controversial loss to Georges St. Pierre at UFC 167 that became the catalyst for USADA testing coming into play (kind of). Leading up to the UFC 167 fight, GSP offered to pay for advanced level drug testing that was not mandatory at the time. Despite agreeing publicly to the testing, Hendricks ultimately declined when push came to shove. This apparently impacted St. Pierre to a great degree, who had been very vocal regarding his concerns regarding PEDs in the sport.

Despite seemingly dominating GSP throughout the fight, the judges awarded a very controversial split-decision victory to the champion. GSP then left the sport and was openly critical regarding the abundance of steroid cheats in the UFC.

We will see if drug-testing comes into play when GSP is determining which fight promotion to sign with during his recently announced free agency.

Since USADA testing began Hendricks has shrunk in the standings and in stature. It appears he doesn’t even have enough testosterone left to grow out his beard.

Hendricks is 0W-2L since USADA testing began.
