1. Bisping Isn’t Money
For all this talk of “money-fights”, what isn’t getting much attention is the fact that Bisping is not a draw. While the UFC may hope a lengthy title run for Bisping will reinvigorate the European market, there is no evidence to suggest Bisping has any appeal outside the continent.
The top drawing card Bisping ever main event’d was UFC 204 against Henderson, and that event did not bring in the butyrate the UFC hoped it would, not even by a long shot.
UFC 204 wasn’t even able to crack 300,000 purchases, which is basically average. The best Bispng can do is average.
GSP on the other hand is a money-fighter. His top drawing event for which he was in the main event was UFC 158 (vs. Nick Diaz), which did just under 1 million buys.
