So Dan Henderson has earned a Middleweight Championship fight…

Granted Henderson does hold a victory over current champion Michael Bisping, but that was 7 years ago.  He has dropped 6 of his last 9 fights, but that’s good enough to earn a title shot according to the UFC.  Henderson’s last fight was against Hector Lombard, and this was a highlight reel fight and finish to be certain.

When Dana White was asked on Twitter why Henderson was given the title shot over Jacare Souza, White explained that Souza was hurt.  Souza of course, is furious and disputes White’s claim.  What is most likely going on there is that Souza turned down the last minute fight with Rockhold, citing an injury, and White is most likely sending a subtle message to all fighters about how costly turning down fights can be.
