Kimbo Slice
You can’t have a discussion about UFC stars who fought in illegal street fights without including perhaps the most famous of them all. Kevin Ferguson, a.k.a. Kimbo Slice was a Youtube sensation who made a name for himself fighting in his own backyard and uploading the videos online.
In the early 2000’s, Kimbo’s videos went viral, with people who have never even heard about MMA wanting to watch some bare-knuckle brawls. The way Kimbo would dare his opponents to hit him with free shots before he absolutely pummeled them most likely was what won him his fans.
Slice was notorious for these videos and soon after, gained enough popularity to make an eventual switch from backyard brawling to professional MMA.
