Five UFC Fighters Who Could’ve Been Champions If They Didn’t Fail Drug Tests

With the new stricter drug testing in the UFC, it’s becoming a lot harder to cheat at the elite level of mixed martial arts. Here are six fighters who could well have been champions if it weren’t for failing drug tests…

The UFC is filled with potentially amazing fighters, but very few will bridge the gap between unranked and ranked, let alone to championship status. The world’s largest mixed martial arts promotion is the most challenging proving ground in the modern fight game, which gives way to the ugliest thing in combat sports.

Yes, we’re talking about steroids, and more specifically those top prospects that have abused them while fighting in the UFC. Fighters that could’ve been championship material who’ve been brought down by the drug tests they’ve failed. They may be back in the game once again, and hopefully clean, but these UFC fighters had their momentum snapped when they got caught juicing.

Check it out:

Hector Lombard

Former Bellator middleweight champion Hector Lombard made his name as one of the most devastating strikers in the 185-pound rankings. He crossed over to the UFC with a series of questionable wins and losses, but found his home when dropping to the welterweight division.

With a three fight win streak under his belt after defeating Josh Burkman in early 2015, Lombard tested positive for anabolic steroids and the win was overturned to a no-contest. He served a one-year suspension and will face Neil Magny when he returns in March this year (2016).
