Now with Bellator, Lyoto Machida is a former UFC light heavyweight champion. A counter-striker, he combines kicks and punches with great effect. In particular, one of his best highlight-reel moments was when he knocked out Vitor Belfort with a perfectly-placed front kick.

Basically, Machida’s style is based on a combination of Shotokan Karate and Brazilian jiu-jitsu. Specifically, his style is elusive, as he does his best to try and lull his opponents into making a mistake. When they do, they usually pay for it.
