No.4: Conor McGregor vs. Nate Diaz 2
Bad blood between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz boiled over at a pre-fight press conference just days before their rematch at UFC 202 in August of 2016.
McGregor had arrived late to the presser and Diaz’s patience quickly ran thin with his outspoken rival, which led to him spontaneously deciding to walk off-stage.
“F*ck your whole team,” Diaz could be heard saying as he and his entourage headed upstairs toward the exit high on a balcony above the stage.
As Diaz continued talking trash, McGregor laughed off the threats being hurled his way, telling him, “Shut your mouth, you’ll do nuttin’. You’ll do f*ckin’ nuttin’. Not one of you will do nuttin’. Get the f**k out of here.”
That was like a red to a bull for Diaz though as he suddenly launched a bottle of water from the balcony at McGregor, at which point several of his crew, which included his brother Nick, Jake Shields and Gilbert Melendez amongst others, followed his lead.
In response McGregor began throwing bottles back up at them, before also grabbing full cans of Monster Energy drink, much to the alarm of Dana White, who shouted in vain for the Irish superstar to stop as they began hurling through the air.
Eventually the two warring parties were ushered away and White delcared the presser was over prematurely due to the chaos that had just ensued, which would eventually lead to both fighters being fined by NSAC.
