Cris Cyborg vs. Dana White / Joe Rogan
For several years Dana White stubbornly refused to allow Cris ‘Cyborg’ to compete in the UFC, pointing to the fact that she had once tested positive for steroids, while also mocking her appearance.
“I said, when I saw her at the [World MMA Awards], that she looked like Wanderlei Silva in a dress and heels, and she did,” White once told reporters.
Joe Rogan also crossed the line when he joked about ‘Cyborg’ having a penis during a podcast with White and fellow comedian Tony Hinchcliffe, which infuriated the fighter, who accused them of bullying.
“Your jokes are mean and hurtful not comedy,” Cyborg wrote on Twitter. “Who would want 2 work for a team that’s so disrespectful?”
Rogan apologized afterwards, while eventually White decided to sign Cyborg, but they continue to have an uneasy relationship to this day and she’s indicated an intention to become a free agent when her current contract ends.
