John Lineker vs. Sean Shelby
John Lineker publicly aired his discontent with the promotion earlier this year, and took aim at matchmaker Sean Shelby in particular.
“My last opponent fought 4 times in a year,” Lineker tagged Shelby on Twitter. “He already has another fight! Sean likes him! I have fought only 4 times since 2016! I need to fight! If you dont like me or my style just let me go!!!”
“I don’t know if it’s something personal against me,” Lineker told MMAjunkie afterwards. “If it is, just tell me and let me go, because I have to fight.”
Lineker was soon booked as a short notice replacement against Rob Font in the co-main event of an upcoming card, but then withdrew for undisclosed reasons and just days later was axed from the promotion, despite having won 8 of his last 10 fights.
