Germaine de Randamie vs. Aspen Ladd
There were high stakes heading into this Fight Night: Sacremento main event last month as No. 1 Germaine De Randamie fought the 8-0 Aspen Ladd.
However, the fight was all over after just 16 seconds after GDR landed an straight right that dropped Ladd.
Admittedly there was a moment’s hesitation afterward from the dazed Ladd as she went down to all-fours, before rolling onto her back to defend herself, but at that moment Ref Herb Dean signalled the fight was over.
While Dean was only looking out for Ladd, it seems harsh that she was handed the first loss of her career so early in a fight in which she’d only been hit once, hadn’t lost consciousness and was still trying to intelligently defend herself.
