7. Max Holloway
Despite being the main event of the worst-selling PPV of 2016, Max Holloway has enough buzz around him now that his next PPV main event will almost certainly do much better. In fact, when Fox ran UFC 206 for free on December 24th, it drew monster ratings. All of a sudden, the interim featherweight champion is a fighter with a chance to really become a star.
For that to happen however, he is going to need to defeat Jose Aldo. While on paper, Aldo is the better fighter, one has to wonder where his head is these days. With the likelihood of him ever receiving a rematch with Conor dwindling daily, it could be the case that Aldo has already checked out mentally from his fight career. He has already threatened to retire.
If Aldo’s head is somewhere else it will provide an opportunity for Holloway to become only the 3rd ever undisputed champion of the division.
