3. Jon Jones

2017 provides yet another opportunity for Jon Jones to pull himself together and prove he is the most talented mixed martial artist of all time.

At 29 years old, and having been in the UFC since 2008, Jones should be entering his prime. If his career has a second period of dominance coming, it will begin next year.

The people around Jones will help determine if more personal issues prevent him from entering the cage this year. The Jackson-Wink team from Albuquerque, NM might be advised to hire someone to look out for Jones, and ensure he doesn’t do anything else that will cause more lost revenue this year for himself and his team.

Dana White said recently he doesn’t know if he can trust Jones enough to put him in a main event fight. Despite that, expect Jones and Cormier to finally rematch for the light heavyweight title in 2017.
