EliteXC: Heat
The infamous EliteXC event where Kimbo Slice, the man the company had been promoting as their top star and poster boy, was scheduled to take on Ken Shamrock. Shamrock opened up a cut over his eye pre-fight causing a last minute substitution. In came former TUF competitor Seth Petruzelli and the rest is history.
After the fight Petruzelli admitted on a radio show that EliteXC officials had offered him a bonus to keep the fight standing. An investigation was to occur but EliteXC would file for bankruptcy shortly after.
