2. Frank Mir – Tainted Kangaroo Meat

It’s always a little harder to accept an excuse from someone who at one point in their career had obtained a testosterone therapy replacement exemption, and that’s the case with Frank Mir.

If Mir was taking PEDs leading up to his fight with Mark Hunt, as post-fight drug tests suggest, it didn’t help him any.  Hunt made short work of Mir, KO’ing him in the 1st round.

The fight was in Australia, and Mir evidently was feasting on kangaroo meat while in the country.  Mir believes that a kangaroo had been beefed up by hormones, and as a result of eating it Mir flunked his test.

Tainted meat has been shown to cause failed drug tests before, so its not completely out of the question that his theory might be correct.  Also in Mir’s defence this is a picture of the kangaroo he ate.
