7. Clay Guida vs Brian Ortega (20 seconds left)

Loveable veteran Clay Guida looked to be on his way to a surprising victory over up and coming featherweight prospect Brian Ortega at UFC 199, but a never-die attitude from Ortega derailed all of that.

Ortega has won his first 4 fights in the UFC, though he has been hampered by a drug test failure stemming from his first UFC bout that saw his victory over Mike de la Torre overturned to a no contest. Guida looked to have won the first two rounds of this bout, and Ortega was at risk of his first ever pro loss. His strategy in the 3rd round is reminiscent of mine on the UFC 2 video game when I feel I’m down on the scorecards in the third: just keep throwing flying knees. Eventually he clocked Guida with one and ended the fight with just 20 seconds to go.

For Guida he continues to spiral down the rankings, too bad for a fighter who has career victories over the likes of Raphael Dos Anjos and Nate Diaz. Unfortunately for Guida, he has only won 3 of his last 9 fights.
