2. Cub Swanson vs. Frankie Edgar UFN 57 (4 seconds left)
Cub Swanson was on a 6-fight winning streak when he fought Frankie Edgar in the main event at Ultimate Fight Night 57, and looked to be on his way to a featherweight title shot. Edgar on the other hand, was trying to rebuild his career after multiple failed attempts to wrestle back his lightweight championship, and then a failed attempt at Jose Aldo and the featherweight belt.
Edgar had just concluded his 3rd and decisive victory over BJ Penn, but still had a lot of work to do to get back into title contention. Swanson may have been over-confident because of his recent success, and didn’t realize how big a step up in competition Edgar was.
Frankie controlled the fight and Swanson had no answer for his takedowns. With just 4 seconds left in the fight, Swanson tapped to a neck crank. Asked why he didn’t just gut it out to take it to a decision, Swanson mentioned he has had a broken jaw before and wasn’t interested in having another one.

1. Demetrious Johnson Kyoji Horiguchi Flyweight UFC 186 (1 second left)
In case you weren’t aware, Demetrious Johnson is better than other flyweight fighters. Unlike in other divisions however, Johnson’s dominance has done nothing to promote the weight class. If anything the flyweight division just seems like a bunch of short guys fighting for the chance to be the next guy Mighty Mouse beats.
Originally only supposed to be the co-main event, Demetrious Johnson defending the title against Horiguchi was moved to the main event after a bantamweight championship match was scratched due to injury. The first round was surprisingly close, and made many wonder if we might see an upset. After that however, Johnson took control and looked to be cruising to a decision victory. Perhaps out of boredom, Johnson decided to go for the finish and got Horiguchi to submit with just 1 second remaining in the fight.
