5. Jon Jones vs. Daniel Cormier II

This was supposed to main event UFC 200, only Jon Jones was pulled days beforehand for failing a drug test. For a second it seemed as though UFC fans would finally warm up to Cormier, after showing some sympathy for him following the cancellation of his rematch with Jones. But then he fought a boring strategy against Anderson Silva and everyone turned on him again.

This fight has to happen because the light heavyweight division feels like it is in a state of limbo until it does. Cormier is clearly the best light heavyweight not named Jon Jones, by Jones can’t keep himself together enough to be able to get to the octagon. Something has to give for the division to move forward.

Unless Jon Jones truly is the biggest train wreck in the history of sports (possible), this fight will be made in 2017.
