5. Royce Gracie 11 Wins

This win streak is arguably the most significant in the history of martial arts. It was the win streak that showcased how effective jiu jitsu really is.

Despite the amount of wins involved, the streak itself only lasted for a little over a year and a half. From UFC 1 to his draw with Ken Shamrock at UFC 5.

There is some controversy involved with this winning streak however. At UFC 3, Gracie’s corner threw in the towel before his fight with Harold Howard. Gracie had just previously beaten Kimo Leopold in a fight that was as competitive as any Gracie had in the UFC to that point. His corner didn’t think Gracie could compete and threw in the towel ahead of the start of the bout.

Since the fight never started, it is not counted as a loss, and officially registers as a BYE for Howard and as a “nothing” for Gracie.

During his 11-fight win streak Gracie defeated:
Dan Severn
Keith Hackney
Ron van Clief
Kimo Leopold
Patrick Smith
Remco Pardoel
Jason DeLucia
Minoki Ichihara
Gerard Gordeau
Ken Shamrock
Art “One Glove” Jimmerson
