The world of mixed martial arts was ablaze with the talk of Conor McGregor ever since he defeated Jose Aldo at UFC 194. The featherweight belt went to Ireland after ‘The Notorious’ one punched the Brazilian striker last December.
The year of hype that had came before UFC 194 was insane to say the least. Perhaps only equalled by the fame Ronda Rouey has seen, McGregor was without doubt the biggest name in modern mixed martial arts. The UFC had found their new ‘hype train.’

The Stockton based grappler/striker faced Conor McGregor at UFC 196, in a fight that was on short notice for Diaz. He’d replaced the injured Rafael dos Anjos after the Brazilian was injured 11 days before, and put in his lifetime performance to submit ‘The Notorious’ in two rounds on March 5.
The feud they shared before UFC 196 was so eventful and entertaining, and quite typical of any pre-fight banter that involves either man. But oddly enough, Diaz has been respectful of McGregor since their fight, but one current UFC champion has gone on the rampage.
