According to the former Bellator lightweight champion, the crowd at UFC 196 might be disappointed if Rafael dos Anjos uses his method against Conor McGregor…
UFC 196 has us all in fits of debates and anticipation, as one of the biggest title fights in the promotion’s history will be going down in the main event. Rafael dos Anjos will defend his lightweight belt against the visiting featherweight champion Conor McGregor, with only the Brazilian’s title on the line.
There’s a deep beef between McGregor and ‘RDA’ that goes back to 2015 and involves some seriously heated trash talk. Up until now, ‘The Notorious’ has been able to back up his talk, but many feel the much bigger dos Anjos will be too much of a challenge for McGregor.
One person that believes the lightweight champion could easily dominate McGregor with one simple trick is former Bellator lightweight boss Eddie Alvarez.
Check out what ‘The Silent Assassin’ told The MMA Hour recently:
“For me, it’s a very simple fight for RDA to win, but he needs to implement a ground attack. If he don’t, I honestly feel like he can get knocked out, just like the other guys Conor was able to knock out. But he can’t allow it to be mostly of a striking,” Alvarez said on Monday’s episode of The MMA Hour.
“I hate when guys who are from a BJJ background and a good wrestling background abandon their whole base and their whole fundamental because a lot of guys around them are telling them that they’re really good strikers. I hope RDA doesn’t do that. I hope he sticks to what he’s good at and wins the fight in a dominant fashion the way he can, the way I feel like a lot of guys can that aren’t doing it against Conor.”
“There’s a simple way to win against this guy and nobody seems to be doing it…..
