Has Brock Lesnar landed a huge role in an upcoming Rocky movie? An Instagram post by Sylvester Stallone is definitely hinting at it…
Despite having left the world of MMA behind (again) following a drug testing scandal at UFC 200, Brock Lesnar continues to be one of the most desired commodities in the combat sports world, real or fake. The current WWE Universal Champion has been called out by everyone from UFC heavyweight contender Francis Ngannou to, if you can believe it, UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson in recent months, all while keeping his ongoing feud with former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones at a simmer in the meantime.
Not bad for a guy who hasn’t competed in MMA in over a year, if you ask me.
And now, it seems that “The Beast” has even earned the eye of none other than Rocky Balboa himself, Sylvester Stallone, who blew Instagram right the hell up this morning with a post hinting at a potential (if wholly fictionalized) clash with Lesnar…potentially even in the Octagon.
Sylvester Stallone just posted this on his Instagram account and hints at a big announcement regarding Brock Lesnar. https://t.co/t3n7z28Jsq pic.twitter.com/z31SxVi1B1

Lesnar vs. Balboa?!!
“Big challenges come in all shapes and forms!” wrote Stallone.
“Very cool announcement at noon!#brocklesnar#rockybalboa1976.”
Though the hashtag #rockybalboa1976 has many fans thinking that Lesnar may have landed a role in an upcoming Rocky movie (which…my God, the unfathomable horrors he would inflict on Balboa’s already broken down remains), reports are indicating that the announcement most likely has to do with the Creed 2, the upcoming sequel to the 2015 spin-off/sequel to his Rocky franchise. Just moments ago, it was revealed that up-and-coming director Steven Capel Jr. had been pegged to direct the sequel to the critical and financial blockbuster, which will apparently focus on “Adonis’ (Michael B. Jordan) struggles with his new-found fame, family drama, and his journey to become a champion.”
Ivan Lesnar…or maybe Brock Drago
Now here’s where things get interesting…though not confirmed, it has been rumored that Creed 2 will also revolve around the son of Ivan Drago — the infamous villain from Rocky IV (who himself was responsible for the death of Adonis’ father, Apollo) — returning to pick up where his father left off. And in terms of giant, aryan-looking dudes who would serve as a perfect incarnation of Drago, you can’t do a whole lot better than Lesnar, who has continued to destroy everything in his path during his current WWE run.
In any case, it looks like we can expect a much bigger development regarding Lesnar’s possible inclusion in the film — which would mark his feature debut as an actor — in the coming days.
Taking to Twitter this afternoon, star Michael B. Jordan revealed that fans can expect to see Creed 2 hitting theaters in November of 2018.
Excited for Coogler to hand over the reins to Steven Caple, Jr. – our director for Creed 2! Can’t wait to bring you guys the next chapter of our story … coming at you November 2018. 👊🏾👊🏾 #Creed2

If Lesnar has in fact been cast as the antagonist of the film, the only question now is how in the world Caple Jr. will be able to convince us that Jordan/Adonis could ever stand a chance of beating him, and whether or not we can expect to see Dolph Lundgren return to the role that made him famous.
