Fedor’s Little Brother is in Trouble Again… Alexander Emelianenko Has Been Arrested by Police After He Rammed Two Vehicles While Allegedly Drunk…
Alexander Emelianenko appeared to have stabilized his life over the last couple of years since his return to his native Russia. The estranged younger brother of the legendary heavyweight Fedor Emelianenko, Alexander is notorious for his crime-ridden past and convictions, including jail time for rape.
He’s been fighting for Akhmat Fight Club and Russian Cagefighting Championship of late and is unbeaten in his last six fights, including a win over former UFC heavyweight Gabriel Gonzaga, and his latest result against Tony Johnson, the first draw of his career. Despite his dark past, he still maintains a strong cult following amongst a section of MMA fans.
The Grim Reaper is in trouble with the law again though after he rammed two cars while allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol. Check out the footage below of the fighter being led away by a squad of cops.

Arrest
His latest arrest came in Kislovodsk, Russia, after he allegedly rammed two vehicles on his all-gold Mercedes while trying to escape from police. Emelianenko supposedly parked in an illegal zone and came back to find that the police were set to tow his ridiculously shiny car away.
So he did the natural thing, which was, of course, to clamber drunkenly into the driver’s seat and try to escape from the police. He didn’t get very far, although he did slam into vehicles on his way. He was swiftly arrested and in the footage above can be heard complaining in Russian that his handcuffs are too tight. Somehow, we don’t think that helped his situation…
No Comment
The controversial fighter’s promoter made a comment about his fighter’s latest legal troubles. Executive Director of the promotional company RCC, Nikolay Klimenko, has commented on the information about the detention of Russian fighter Alexander Emelianenko in the Stavropol region. Not giving anything away, he said:
“Tomorrow, we’ll find out what happened. It is too early to comment on the situation.”
Emelianenko is booked to fight in Yekaterinburg on May 4. If the force is with him, he will still be free to fight as it has not been cancelled at this stage. He remains one of the most complex individuals in the MMA world.

History
Alexander has a history of getting into trouble with the law. He was infamously convicted of raping his housekeeper Polina Stepanova, as well as stealing her passport. He was sentenced to 4.5 years in prison but only served 18 months. His MMA career has been blighted by this and accusations that he suffers from hepatitis. At one point he looked set to sign with the Polish promotion KSW, but they accused him of having Hepatitis C.
While he’s nowhere near as successful as his brother, he still carved out a decent career in PRIDE and has fought respected names like Sergei Kharitonov, Josh Barnett, Fabricio Werdum and Mirko Cro-Cop. Where Emelianenko goes, drama tends to follow.
