Things are really starting to heat up between Anthony Joshua and Stipe Miocic. Perhaps the MMA vs. Boxing debate isn’t quite over yet…

Depending on how you look at it, a fight between Anthony Joshua and Stipe Miocic could be considered unlikely. Given the recent state of affairs in combat sports though, a collision between boxing and MMA’s best could well be coming.

Starting over social media between Joshua, the current WBA, IBO & IBF champion, and UFC heavyweights Alistair Overeem, Junior dos Santos and Stipe Miocic. Currently, the UFC’s heavyweight boss, Miocic has shown the most interest in fighting Joshua.

After the success of Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor, surely this bout would be a promoter’s dream? According to UFC president Dana White, he’s done promoting crossover fights.

Ask the Showtime team and they will tell you differently, as Stephen Espinoza revealed they are targeting more MMA vs. Boxing spectacles.

Anthony Joshu has spent a lo9t of time talking about joining the UFC lately, and now he’s stolen Conor McGregor’s line…

Joshua Burns Miocic During Video Interview

Talking with Sport Bible this week, boxing’s Anthony Joshua made a point of jabbing Miocic. Among other things, AJ talks about the recent spectacle of Mayweather vs. McGregor, and why it was good for combat sports.

Check out Joshua stealing Conor McGregor’s infamous line to troll Stipe Miocic below:

According to Joshua during his interview with The Daily Star, he’s planning all kinds of violence against the UFC heavyweight division:

“I’ll still smash up those UFC fighters if I wanted. You can’t talk to me like that. I’ll give them a slap,” he told the Daily Star.

“I’m a fighter, you don’t just call people out recklessly,” said the London 2012 gold medallist. “I’m not a UFC fighter – I can’t put you in a submission – but I know how to throw my legs, I know how to use my elbows and I know how to punch people. “That’s my only disadvantage, the submissions, but I’ll throw it down, for sure.”

“I like fighting, I’d do whatever. The only thing that they can’t do is submissions but they can kick, elbow, bite – whatever they want,” Joshua said.

“I can’t beat a guy [via submission]. That takes a lot of time to learn the skills and submissions, which I don’t have the time for, but when it comes to pure aggression and fighting rules, I can definitely fight, so I don’t mind that.”

“It wouldn’t be a problem,”

Would Joshua be able to hang in the octagon against Miocic? Also, does Stipe stand a chance in AJ’s boxing ring? Miocic was a golden gloves champ as a youth, but Joshua has zero (known) MMA or jiu jitsu experience.

With the trash talk continuing on a daily basis, can they build up enough hype to change Dana White’s mind about another crossover fight? If the numbers add up, it’s likely we’ll see more and more of these fights taking place.
